Broadcaster – the core unit of AVDS, gets connected to the multimedia (audio and video) player; has 8 RJ45 ports, for broadcasting the audio/video source over CAT 5 cables to Remote receivers (or Line Splitters).
AVDS Transmitter – used instead of the AVDS Broadcaster to avoid multiple long cable runs. The Transmitter gets connected to the multimedia (audio and video) player; has one RJ45 port for transmitting the audio/video source over CAT 5 cables to a Line Splitter.
Remote receiver – receives audio and video signal from Broadcaster (or Transmitter or Line Splitter); displays the video on attached display and plays audio on attached speakers. A 'Picture' adjustment is available to sharpen the image's video quality, compensating for color skew that is inherent to the CAT-5 cable. An optional Power Remote provides cleaner audio quality and can be used with un-shielded CAT-5 cable. Remotes are sold separately – get only as many remote receivers as you need.
AVDS Line Splitter – receives audio and video signal (from AVDS Transmitter or one AVDS Broadcaster port) and splits it through its 8 RJ45 ports to up to 8 additional Remote receivers, thereby expanding the number of audio/video displays stations. Sold separately – get only as many line splitters as you need.
AVDS Control Unit – a two-button control unit that either sends video to all connected displays, or darkens all connected displays. AVDS Control Unit comes standard with any AVDS Broadcaster unit.
